Arnolfo di Cambio, a company specialised in the production of objects made of crystal with more than 24% PbO, was founded in Colle Val d’Elsa in 1963.
Its success is due to the entrepreneurial spirit of its partners who, for three generations, have always sought new technologies and created the highly innovative projects that have allowed it to distinguish itself by its unique design.
Over the last 45 years, Arnolfo di Cambio has assimilated the heritage of master glassblowers and combined it with technological innovation, investing right from the start in the collaboration of famous designers who have given it its unmistakable style. Leading designers such as Ettore Sottsass, Enzo Mari, Marco Zanuso, Sergio Asti, Cini Boeri, Toshiyuki Kita, Roger Tallon, Oscar Tusquets Blanca, Konstantin Grcic, Alfredo Haberli, Michele De Lucchi have re-interpreted the classics of the collections, improving their functionality and valorising their aesthetics.
Significant examples include the Smoke glass of Joe Colombo and Mapan by Sergio Asti, both on display in the permanent collection at the MoMa in New York, and Cibi which became familiar to a wider public because of its use in Ridley Scott movie “Blade Runner”.
The company’s trademark has become highly visible internationally as a result of exhibitions, publications and prizes that have contributed to increasing the appreciation of the public, institutions and designers, who acknowledge Arnolfo di Cambio as one of the leading Italian crystal manufacturers. Style, tradition and innovation, elegance, and the unique nature of each piece reflect the philosophy of Arnolfo di Cambio which, without losing anything of its own identity, has proved itself capable of prodicing collections that enhance the original culture of the designers with whom it collaborates.
The purchase of an object produced by Arnolfo di Cambio can be seen in many ways: the awareness of having bought a product that maximises the innate characteristics of crystal, and the guarantee of a product hand made in Italy whose engravings, lights and refractions are enhanced by the fact of being worked using traditional techniques.
The three collections Clearline, Il Cristallo and ADC have different characteristics:
Clearline is the cosmopolitan series of the di Cambio home, created with the contribution of Italian and foreign designers under the artistic direction of François Burkhardt. It is a collection that brings together ever-new designs as a result of the constant pursuit of the most innovative research.
Il Cristallo is a collection designed for the lovers of tradition, and privileges historical shapes, sparkling cuts, classical engravings, and decorations in gold and platinum.
ADC has been designed for everyday use, a perfect combination of precious materials and an optimum quality/price ratio. Its versatility makes each piece of the collection suitable for more informal occasions, without sacrificing anything in terms of elegant design.

Clearline
Seven years ago, we launched a new line of crystal products, calling it "Clearline". From the name of the line it's easy to understand the conceptual crossover between "crystal" and "design" with which the company Arnolfo di Cambio presents itself to the public. The company offers to consumer a contemporary collection of articles based on rigorous production principles, with a focus on factor such as quality typological innovation and the formal specifity ot international designers.
Our experience and success - made possible by a good working relationship between the firm and art direction - have confirmed that there is, in fact, interest and demand for high quality objects with a contemporary design, in a product range intended for the tastes and needs of a clientele that values both tadition and innovation and believes in quality italian products
.
As such, after only a short time, "Clearline" can claim to have become one of the crystal's sector prestigous collections that does not shy from being compared with more prominent international firms. And so, we will continue along our path with the addition to the catalog of new products designed by a younger generation. The inclusion of Grcic (Germany), Haberli (Switzerland), De Lucchi (Italy) and Rashid (USA) demonstrates our desire to associate the best international designers with our program. And after having involved Sottsass, Mari, Meda, Tusquets, Kita and Tallon, all well known designer, with ruggiero we open the program to young talents.
"Clearline", an in-progress collection produced by Arnolfo di Cambio, brings together artistry and industry, uniting innovative products with the "handmade" quality that cannot be found in entirely industrially-produced articles.

Il Cristallo
“Crystal” forms the most classic nucleus of Arnolfo di Cambio collections. However, “classic” here does not mean shapes with predefined connotations and a universally recognised style, but covers a group of objects based on the principal characteristic of working crystal: manual dxterity. The “gather” is raised from the incandescent furnace by hand, as is the shaping of the molten glass “ball”, the “blowing” of the piece, and the entire finishing cycle of buffing, cutting and the selection of the product by means of matching heights and thicknesses.
This means that each object has the common characteristic of being made by means of a similar working process but having taken on different shapes under the guidance of the creative spirit of the different architects, designers and artists involved in making it. This different transversal approach to tableware never loses sight of consumers’ needs, but also seeks to interpret their tastes and enhance the rituals of a modus vivendi that includes aperitifs, wine tasting and interior decoration. A beautiful object is also decorative, an invitation to enjoy the pleasure of reawakened senses, and this is made possible by the continuous innovation and stylistic research pursued by Arnolfo di Cambio, which leads to anticipating or following trends to make them its own. |

Adc.
After its many years of acquired experience in the art of working crystal, Arnolfo di Cambio is now exploring the world of automation by means of the careful selection of simple shapes previously made by hand (but always in crystal with more than 24% PbO) in order to offer its customers products that retain their unique style at a more contained price, thus giving them the opportunity to acquire crystalware that is still highly attractive even if not made by hand. A sort of decision-making phase that will allow consumers to decide whether the crystal goblet or other object will become an integral part of their tableware, welcome and environment, or remain a tactile experience limited to a single purchase. The ADC Collection is designed for the everyday use of goblets and glasses which, being more robust, can be conveniently washed in a dishwasher. |
